Introducing our NEW Clean Label Initiative

At CUSD Nutrition, we feel a sense of responsibility to be advocates for your child’s health. We don’t take that lightly—which is why we have decided to embark on our new Clean Label Initiative.

The Clean Label Initiative is founded on the researched guidance of Whole Foods Market, and it means we are literally cleaning up our act. We are eliminating 30 major food additives that we don’t believe add value to your student’s health and future success. The additives we are cleaning out of our food include artificial colors and flavors, hydrogenated fats, MSG, and artificial sweeteners….but that’s just the start! We will continue to evolve, and by the year 2020 our goal is to eliminate over 70 total additives from the foods we serve.

We feel a strong sense of responsibility to equip your students for the best possible health and future success, and we believe that these additives provide no nutritional benefit or advantage.

Chandler Unified School District aims to achieve a nutritional program in which we use whole ingredients in their purest form while creating meals and snacks that our students truly enjoy.

We are working alongside local farmers and suppliers to ensure that our standards are being met at the BEGINNING of the food production process. We are also making a commitment to improve transparency, and will provide complete ingredient information of all foods served to your student through our online menus.

We are excited to know that we can make a positive impact on your student’s life. We hope to set the standard and lead the initiative for other school districts nationwide.
